CPrint is a relatively new service and has been described as a shorthand language for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. This service involves a CPrint operator physically typing the shorthand language into a computer device which is then displayed on a monitor or overhead screen to be read. Afterward, the printed text is available for review purposes. CART, or computer assisted real time captioning, is a service provided to those deaf and hard of hearing individuals who do not know sign language. Real time captioning service offers full accessibility and participation to deaf and hard of hearing individuals. This program is directed toward those individuals who request oral interpretation services or who have lost their hearing later in life and have limited sign skills.
